The Electric Revolution: PAVE Scheme Launched

The big news this week is the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) Scheme.

• Rs 80,000 Subsidy: The government has started transferring a direct subsidy of up to Rs 80,000 into the bank accounts of approved applicants for electric bikes.
• 41,000 Units: In this first phase, 40,000 e-bikes are being distributed to students, youth, and women.
• Easy Installments: Banks have opened special windows for interest-free or low-markup installment plans to make the transition from petrol to electric affordable.
